Candler Park Playground

This is my family's favorite playground. It isn't top-of-the line or super innovative in any way, but it offers a lot. First, it has 2 main play structures - one for 1-4 year olds & another for older children. In regards to swings, there are 8 total amongst 3 sets: 2 baby sets & another set for older children. There are a handful of whimsy riders, a tunnel, see saw & a climbing frame. It really suits the needs of children of all ages & there is enough of everything that even when it's busy, it's not too bad. There's plenty to climb for older children and plenty of safer options for small children...& then enough in between for those starting to become more adventurous! My 2nd favorite thing about it is that it is partially shaded. It is surrounded by trees so offers plenty of shaded areas for children to play or parents to sit. That's the other thing, there are plenty of benches & retaining walls that offer a place for the parent to rest yet they are close enough to be able to watch their children carefully. The shade also means that the structures (especially slides) don't get too hot during the summer months & burn the kids. I'm not sure if nuggets make it ADA accessible, but I believe so. I prefer rubber surfacing, but there are enough nuggets layered to provide good cushion here. The location is inside of Candler Park so there are fields around to throw a ball, a big hill leading to the tennis courts that many kids like to climb, a pool across the parking lot (with toilets during the summer!), covered eating areas & plenty of walking paths. You can really get a good day of play here for the whole family. Parking is super convenient here as well. We love this park!
