I don't know if it once was gorgeous, but the playground was pretty bad when I went. There was graffiti, and a lot of broken glass surrounding the benches inside of the play area for children; I didn't want to let my daughter run around for fear of her getting injured. There were also some very creepy men hovering around inside the play area too- there were a couple other moms there in addition to myself, and we all left fairly quickly.

The Crown Jewel of San Antonio Parks. Features The Witte Museum, San Antonio Zoo, First Tee Golf Range and Acadamy, 18 hole golf course, Japanese Tea Garden, Sunken Garden Theater, Tuesday Musical Club, and Eagle Miniature Train. A favorite among local residents for family holiday picnics. Many hike and bike trails and the trail head for the Museum Reach of the San Antonio River. The river also offers opportunity to swim and fish.

Brackenridge park offers recreation, fun and beauty for all ages. The zoo is expanding and the San Antonio River is an incredibly wonderful asset.
