We saved a 1 1/2 year old female lab mix, 50 lbs, 6 weeks ago. We took her for the first time today to a dog park - "Seasons Park." It is beautiful, surrounded by bourganvilla and with a backing of mountains. We and our dog thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There were 7 other dogs, very energetic and very friendly. Our dog had the time of her life. Thank you La Quinta, we will be going there regularly.

Although very grateful for the park, one question remains so many of us have that have visited the new park.

WHY...???..why is the "small" dog area so tiny and the "big" dog area so immensely big?.
So far none of the small dog owners are using the "small" dog area simply because of the restricted playing area that is available since the "small" dog area is about 50% concrete and has a very small grassy area.

What were the designers thinking when they came up with the configuration of this park?
All they have to do is visit the dog park on Seeley (Pioneer park) and they will see that there are at least 3-4 times more small dogs than big dogs on any given day.

I hope that the city will make chances in the configuration and make the small dog area larger by simply extending the fence that separates the small dogs from the large dogs and extend the fence all the way to the wall.
At least the small dogs owners may feel that their pooch have a little exercise by having a bit of a running area.
Otherwise I have a feeling that all dogs big or small will be gathered in one area and that may cause some small dog owners to be concerned if the bigger dogs get a bit rough and that may create a messy situation.
