DinoQuest: A Tropical Trek Through Time: A roaring good time! Travel back 65 million years with DinoQuest: A Tropical Trek Through Time, an exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis that runs through Oct. 3.

Kaboom Playground Fan Club

Spoede parents will gather to read the New Yorker article on the architect who created Kaboom playgrounds and talk about how important creativity is to play. Lite refreshments will be served. All attendees must sign up on the Kaboom fan website

Well, first quarter officially ends on October 15 but hey, there's no school on this day. We'll spend October 15 cleaning the yard, and October 22 enjoying ourselves. Come out for a play date with friends and have some fun!

Yeah, the semester officially ended on December 22, but everyone is busy with the holidays and traveling. Noweveryone's back in town and things have settled down. Join in on a holiday play date on MLK day to celebrate the end of the 2nd quarter.

Dedication of the "Buchanan Woods," in honor of Sharon Buchanan

Please join students, teachers, parents and faculty as we dedicate the "Buchanan Woods," in honor of Sharon Buchanan's decade-long contributions to the Spoede community. Sharon was the founder and champion of the Outdoor Learning Center, which gets our students out of their school chairs, and encourages them to observe, think, and learn in the outdoors. Sharon also created a Missouri wildlife center at our school, which won an award for growing landscape indigenous to the state of Missouri. It is this wildlife center we are naming the "Buchanan Woods," to thank Sharon for helping our children love and learn through nature. The dedication will take place on September 10th at 3:00 PM in the lower field of the playground - we will do our spirit assembly outside for the dedication! Any parents who want to attend can park on the back gravel lot, or by the gym side parking lot. See you there!
